Aftercare Instructions

During the tattoo process, the skin becomes an open wound. It takes around 2 weeks for the wound itself to heal, and 4-6 weeks for the ink to settle into the skin.

Your fresh tattoo will be covered either by plastic foil or second skin.

For plastic foil:

You may keep the foil on up to 3 hours or remove it once at home.

For second skin:

Remove after 48 hours under lukewarm water.

If you notice that: the tattoo is exposed from the plaster opening by accident or you get a redness reaction around the plaster, remove it as soon as possible & clean the area.

Remove the foil & wash your tattoo with lukewarm water & a mild soap (pH neutral, no perfume or strong chemicals). Afterwards, pat it dry with  kitchen paper (not a towel) or let it air dry. Once the skin is dried, you may let it air out for the rest of the day. Before going to bed, wash the tattoo once again & on dry skin apply a THIN layer of tattoo aftercare cream. In the morning, remove the film & wash your tattoo once a day for the next 3 days. You may apply cream twice a day until the tattoo is completely healed.

Tips:

  • Always wash your hands before touching your fresh tattoo

  • Avoid tight clothing or bandaids

  • After around 5 days, your tattoo will become dry, itchy & scab. This is a normal part of the healing process

DO NOT:

  • Scratch the tattoo

  • Go swimming, sunbathing/tanning or sauna

  • Do heavy exercise in the area

for the first 2 weeks.

* If your new tattoo shows signs of intense redness, swelling, pain, pus, or bleeding, visit your doctor as soon as possible. *

AFTER the tattoo is completely healed (2-3 weeks) you should apply SPF50 sunscreen to ensure the long lasting look of your tattoo.

Be sure to send a healed picture of your tattoo, if you need a touch up I offer this for free 6 months after the tattoo session!
